Look, Mum, I'm on The Guardian's website!

Posted in Photography  •  30 September 2010

A few weeks ago, my friend Jonathan took me up in his little two-seater plane, taking off from Bourn airfield (about seven miles west of Cambridge) and flying towards the city.

As well as various images of Cambridge from a more unusual angle, I also got a shot of a farmer cultivating his field. It was a really quick shot, just as we were beginning to turn for the approach to landing - but I really like the composition and colours.

The Guardian ran a readers' competition for photographs on the theme 'Lines'; while I didn't make the final four printed in the paper, I was featured in the top ten on The Guardian's website.

Fort William

We've recently been up to Fort William for a friend's wedding; three pictures from the trip grabbed my fancy.

We came across a creepy woodland path full of toys, baubles and oddities. Grrrr.

The Lake District

Carrie and I went on our honeymoon to the Lake District, and spent a week walking, going to little pubs, and visiting the zoo.
